Prevention is very important
Initially the damage to the wall of the artery progresses unnoticed. Unfortunately there are at present no routine examinations available that would make it possible to detect arteriosclerotic changes at an early stage. This also clearly shows the first symptoms of arteriosclerosis unfortunately only become evident once the vessel already is more than 50% occluded. The process progresses unnoticed for several years, until it finally becomes manifested in elderly, as a major health problem. That is, why prevention is so important.
